However, now that Cyberpunk 2077 is over a year old, it appears that CDPR’s efforts are starting to bear fruit.
A new wave of players are liking Cyberpunk 2077
With Steam selling Cyberpunk 2077 for a huge discount, more players are getting the chance to try it out for the first time, which has resulted in the game getting “very positive” overall reviews on Steam. The overwhelmingly positive response to Cyberpunk 2077 has even prompted a quest director over at CD Projekt RED to express his joy on his Twitter account.
You can’t imagine what it means to me 🥺 pic.twitter.com/bz3xElKixT — Paweł Sasko (@PaweSasko) November 25, 2021 Pawel Sakso is the lead quest designer for both The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. Given how much the game means to him, it’s understandable why he’s elated to find out that the public perception of Cyberpunk 2077 has changed. Going by the numbers, Cyberpunk 2077’s “Recent” reviews are 83% positive. Mind you, it’s not just a small handful of people who’ve tried it either. Nearly 12,000 “Very Positive” reviews of Cyberpunk 2077 were submitted in recent months, suggesting that Cyberpunk 2077 is improving even if it’s still not the game that CDPR promised many years ago. With that said, here’s to hoping that CDPR sees this as a sign of encouragement to do more and not as a reason to get complacent. CDPR still hasn’t released any DLC of note for Cyberpunk 2077. Earlier this year, fans were disappointed after finding out just how little new content was added to Cyberpunk 2077 as part of the game’s first free DLC. In addition to this, CDPR delayed the next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077. If CDPR can keep up the current progress of Cyberpunk 2077, then it’s only a matter of time before the studio redeems itself in the eyes of its fans and critics.
